NOV 2 - NOV 11, 2012 ~ MENDOCINO COUNTY Mendocino County is home to more than 3,000 mushroom varieties, including the rare candy cap mushroom with its intense maple syrup flavor and sweet fragrance that grows only along the northern coast of California. With mushroom dinners, wine- and beer-pairing workshops, cooking classes, musical performances, exhibits, guided mushroom foraging there is something for everyone during this magical season of mushrooms. Events take place throughout the County, from the coast to the inland valleys.

Through NOV ~ Walks! Botanical Gardens, FORT BRAGG Join a staff mycologist on a weekly walk for mushrooms throughout the Garden. Mushroom identification and biology.		NOV 1- 30 ~ Mushroom Exhibits Ford House Exhibits, MENDOCINO. Mushrooms will be the focus at the Ford House in November with a month long exhibit featuring mushroom natural history. A show of photographer Laura House's close up images of our local fungi will add brilliant illustration to this exhibit.
NOV 2012 ~ Festival Kick-Off Kick-off Mendocino Wine & Mushroom Festival. Destination Camp Mendocino where you'll enjoy wine tasting with mushroom goodies served in the redwoods along the Noyo River and learn about mushrooms.
NOV 2012 ~ Symphony Your Wine & Mushroom adventure continues with the delicious sounds of Symphony of the Redwoods. The orchestra takes you from The Steppes of Central Asia (Borodin) to Spain, with Matthew Miksak singing Ravel's Don Quixote. Then on to England for Britten's Suite on English Folk Tunes, and Vaughn Williams' Serenade to Music with the College of the Redwoods Community Choir.		NOV 2012 ~ LFK Mushroom Paddle Learn the basics of mushroom identification with a hands-on, pre-paddle mushroom lesson; then tour the calm waters of the Noyo River in search of wild mushrooms and other Noyo River wonders. Our waterproof gear will keep you dry and warm while you enjoy the quiet solitude of the Noyo River, fall scenery, colorful migratory ducks, and mysterious mushrooms.
