Since 1885 the historic Skunk Train has made its way through old-growth redwood groves, over scenic trestle bridges, through spectacular tunnels, and into the heart of the Noyo River canyon. Today's riders enjoy the same pristine views that have remained largely unchanged for well over a century.

The oldest of California's Chinese houses of worship in continuous use, the temple may date back as far as 1854, though its documented history reaches only to 1883. The Chinese built many temples in California, but no others remain on the North Coast.

Constructed in 1854, this home today houses a visitor center for Mendocino Headlands State Park. The museum features models of vessels which once plied coastal waters, carrying lumber, passengers and other essentials to those who made their homes on the North Coast. Best known as the drummer for The Byrds from 1968 to 1972, Flying Burrito Brothers, and still gigs with David Hayes and Meridian Green. In 1968, he invented the StringBender, building and installing them in musicians' instruments ever since.
